Basal Generator handles health-related data, so it is worth knowing exactly what is stored and what is not. This is a plain-language summary. The legally binding description is the Privacy Policy.
What is stored
- Your account: your email address (it identifies the account), your password as a hash that the administrator cannot read, and your language.
- CareLink access tokens: they let the server fetch your data on your behalf. Your CareLink password is never sent to the server and never stored.
- Insulin data: the time and amount of each automatic basal micro-bolus and of each auto-correction bolus. The chart and table are calculated from these.
- Technical records: the time and result of each sync (kept as long as the account exists) and the standard web server logs described in the Privacy Policy.
- Messages you send through the contact form, kept for up to 12 months.
What is not stored
- Glucose readings and other sensor data.
- Pump settings, such as your basal pattern, carb ratio or targets.
- Meal boluses and any other data from CareLink that the analysis does not use.
- Your CareLink password.
Why glucose is not collected
The analysis only needs to know how much automatic basal insulin (and how many auto-corrections) was delivered, and at what time. Glucose readings are not needed for that, so they are not collected or stored. The rule is simple: only what the tool needs to work is collected.
Who can see it
The data lives in a database on the administrator's own server in the European Economic Area, and only the administrator has access to it. It is not sold and not used for advertising or profiling. An email delivery service sends our messages (confirmations, password resets, sync notifications), and the replies you send go to the administrator's mailbox at WP.
Cookies and browser storage
One technical cookie keeps you signed in for up to 90 days. There are no tracking or advertising cookies. Your theme and chart preferences are kept only in your browser.
Staying in control
- Delete your account at any time with the Delete Account button on the home page. This removes your data, including sync records. Copies in backups expire later, as the Privacy Policy explains.
- Change your CareLink password to make the saved tokens useless immediately.
- Accounts that are not confirmed by email are removed automatically after 7 days.
- Ask for access, correction or erasure through the contact form.
